Growing in Grace with GraceWorks (Growing in Grace Series – Accomplishments 1)

GraceWorks Ministries is a local nonprofit helping struggling families in Williamson County when they need it the most. Supplying the basics for life with a faith based approach is what keeps GraceWorks growing.

GraceWorks Ministries sprung up from the idea and hard work of a few Williamson County residents who saw a need in 1995. Since that time thousands have joined the cause. Schools, businesses, civic groups and nearly 100 churches of various denominations support the mission of GraceWorks. “United by a common loyalty to Jesus Christ, GraceWorks is dedicated to sharing the hope and grace of God by helping our neighbors in need.”

Accomplishments at GraceWorks already this year show staggering figures that are only beginning to impact the actual need in Williamson County. So far the nonprofit has already assisted as many families as they did in 2012 and the holidays are ahead of us. The FUEL bag program has increased 700 percent since September of 2010. In 2012 the Food Pantry gave 275 percent more food to needy families than just 5 years before and the expectation in five more years will be 50,000 families served annually. All of this is accomplished by help from 460 volunteers who serve 2,000 hours monthly.

The need is not waning; it is increasing. Come back all this week to learn more about GraceWorks and hear the thoughts of Executive Director Tina Edwards as we ask her about the future of Williamson County and GraceWorks Ministries.
