Grassland Foodland Begins Closing Sale

Just before 2017 ended, Grassland Foodland announced its closure. The independently owned grocery store in the Grassland community of Franklin will close in January 2018.

On their Facebook page, owner Toney Collier stated the following.

To all our valued customers,
I have put off writing this as long as I possibly can because I have dreaded doing so, but you deserve to hear it straight from me. The rumors are true. We will be permanently closing the store sometime toward the end of January.
For the last two years and four months, we have worked to give you a community supermarket that you would be proud to say “this is MY store!” We remodeled, upgraded our product line, tried to give exceptional customer service and lowered our prices all at the same time. And many of you responded. THANK YOU! Donna and I will be forever grateful to the Grassland Community for the way you have embraced us. Unfortunately, we have not been able to increase our sales to the point of being able to continue in business. Starting January 02, 2018 we will begin to liquidate our inventory. (More details will be posted later.) Starting New Year’s Eve we will close every day at 6:00 PM.
Again, on behalf of my partner Al Carman, Donna and myself “Thank You!” for your business, your support and more importantly, your friendship over the last few years. Please stop by over the next month so I can thank as many of you personally as possible!

As of Tuesday, January 2, the store will offer 25 percent discount on all merchandise with the exclusion of Miss Daisy’s Kitchen items.

Miss Daisy’s Kitchen is a separate business and will remain open inside Foodland. The Grassland Post Office which was located inside Foodland has also closed.
