Gracious Spaces: DIY House Numbers

By Jennifer Ingram,Owner, Gracious Spaces in Brentwood, TN

Spring is all about digging in the dirt and getting back into our regular yard work. Typically, we think about mulching flower beds, planting flowers, killing weeds, and mowing the lawn. It’s constant maintenance once April rolls around. While we enjoy the new life and color that emerges, it is also exciting to think of how we can spruce up the exterior of our homes.

Have you ever given your house numbers any thought? There are so many other ways to display your house number that don’t include your mailbox. While it’s practical, why not choose something creative and unexpected? There are loads of options.

Reclaimed wood is a popular trend and looks so hip with these modern numbers attached. It’s a charming statement on a front porch.  If you happen to have a golfer or gardener in your home then a framed piece of artificial turf may be a great fit  for you.  The crisp, white numbers look bold on the green background. For a clean, classic look consider attaching numbers straight onto the risers of your porch. It’s a fabulous look. Or you may prefer a simple, stained wooden post with a hook for a flower basket to warmly welcomes guests to your home. Just a few unique ways of adding fun, timeless curb appeal that can be easily completed over a weekend. Which one is your favorite?
