Two weeks ago Grace Christian Academy played its first ever TSSAA football game. It got its first ever win also.
Well, last week against Cornerville, the Lions saw the flip side of that coin. First ever loss.

The Lions’ New Lair
With that out of the way, what is important Friday, Sept 11th, when GCA plays Summertown in its first home game of the season and ever, is how the Lions respond to the loss.
“We are learning a lot . . . I am very proud of how we played,” said Rusty Smith, GCA head coach. “I really do think we fought hard, we fought to the end.”

On offense the Lions are led by quarterback Austin Amor and running back Jordan Whitson. On defense Whitson, Noah Bright and Calvin Berger have been standing out.
Summertown (1-2, 0-1 1A Region 4), is the Lions’ second straight district opponent. For GCA the game is not just an opportunity to win in their first home game ever but to help its playoff chances by beating a district rival.
