Grace Christian Ready for Richland Road Trip

After hosting their first two home games in TSSAA, Grace Christian (2-2, 1-2) heads back on the road to face off against regional foe, the Richland Raiders (2-2, 0-2). The Lions are coming off a 42-10 loss to Moore County, whereas the Raiders dropped their contest last week to Fayetteville, 28-7.

Run Game Keys Lions Success

With their spread offensive look, the Lions have had a majority of their success on the ground. Austin Amor, Dylan Woods, and Jordan Whitson have been the catalysts for the Lions on the ground. Woods and Whitson have been a 1-2 punch in the backfield that has combined for 5 touchdowns on the ground through the first four games of the season. Amor has added over 250 yards on the ground, including 5 touchdowns on the ground of his own. Through the air, Amor has thrown for nearly 375 yards and added a touchdown through the air.

Defense Looks to Respond from Defeat

Last week, GCA struggled against a larger Moore County team, who put up 42 points on the Lions. This week, Grace Christian faces an inconsistent Richland offense who has managed only 13 points over the past two weeks. The Lions look to lean on anchors Dylan Woods and Nick Whitson. Whitson is coming off a 5 tackle, 1 interception performance against Moore County. Woods has been the Lions leading tackler, tallying at least 8 tackles in each of Grace Christian’s four games this season.

This week, Grace Christian looks to answer after a stunner against Moore County. After having the comfort of home sweet home for the past two weeks, a road trip to Richland provides a chance to regroup and get another regional win to help boost their playoff chances at the Class A level.
