Grace Christian Academy’s Austin Amor accounted for seven touchdowns, as the Lions held on to beat Mt. Pleasant, 48-46, on Friday evening.

Amor was 19-of-25 passing for 282 yards, four touchdowns and an interception, and ran 18 times for 135 yards and three scores.

Two of those touchdown runs came in the fourth quarter, one coming from two yards out with 58 seconds left.

Sam Jones’s point-after put the Lions up 48-40, but Mt. Pleasant’s Trevion Hale hit Zyshon Anderson for a 40-yard touchdown pass with 24 seconds left.

Grace Christian (4-4), however, prevented overtime when Tai Pillow’s 2-point conversion run came up shot.

Amor hit Brown for a score as the Lions took an early 7-0 lead.

The Lions added six more on Amor’s 30-yard toss to Alonzo with 2:07 remaining in the first quarter.

Mt. Pleasant answered with a score, but again, Amor hit Alonzo for 85 yards and another touchdown, with GCA extending the lead to 13.

Alonzo added seven total stops, with two tackles for loss, on defense.
