The dog kennels at the Williamson County Animal Center are being painted, and their dogs need a Spring Break! To complete this project, Williamson County Animal Center in Franklin needs foster families for 28 adoptable dogs from April 1-9, 2016. Plus, all adoption fees for adult dogs are waived through Sunday April 3, when the shelter begins new Sunday adoption hours of noon to 4:00 p.m.

Shelter Director Laura Chavarria said, “We are excited to be able to spruce up the adoption room, and we thought our dogs deserved a Spring Break from the shelter.” Chavarria said the shelter will provide almost everything needed for fosters: food, portable kennels, leashes, toys, blankets and a staff contact. “All our families need to provide is exercise, lots of love and a place to snuggle. Interested fosters should email [email protected].” Any adoptable dogs not on Spring Break at a foster home will be housed in a temporary adoption room.

Chavarria also announced that the busy shelter will be open for adoptions on Sundays from noon to 4:00 p.m. beginning April 3. “Late Spring and summer are historically the busiest months at the shelter, and our hope is that having Sunday hours will result in many more adoptions.” There is no adoption fee for adult dogs through Sunday, April 3.

The Williamson County Animal Center is located at 106 Claude Yates Dr. in Franklin. The shelter is open for adoptions Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Starting April 3, 2016, the shelter will be open on Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Adoptable animals can be viewed at www.adoptwcac.org.
