Girls Volleyball Round Up-Oct. 4

school headerThe Girls high school volleyball regular season is wrapping up for most schools.

Let’s take a look at results and standings around the county, and where teams are heading into the postseason. District tournaments are coming up in the coming week or two for most teams.

Class 3A-District 11

Brentwood so far this year is undefeated and sitting atop the district. The 12-0 (district) Bruins, just in the last two weeks, beat every team in their district. Last week they beat Summit, Ravenwood, Franklin and Dickson Co, all 3-0. They have Page at home on Monday in the last game of the regular season.

Franklin is in second place in the district. The Rebels have a 11-2 record in the district,  with the two losses coming from Brentwood. The Rebels beat Summit last Tuesday and lost to Brentwood to end the regular season last Wednesday.

Ravenwood is in third place, with a 8-4 district record. The Raptors ended the season with wins against Centennial and Independence. Independence and the Raptors play on Wednesday for the start of the district tournament.

Centennial sits at fourth, at 6-6. The Cougars lost one and won two in the last week, beaiting Dickson County and Summit but losing to Ravenwood.

Summit is fifth at 3-8. The Spartans have lost three straight district games to end the season. They lost at Franklin on Tuesday and at home against Brentwood on Tuesday to end the season, both matches 3-0.

Independence is sixth at 1-11 in the district. The Eagles ended the season with losses to Ravenwood and Dickson. The Eagles play Ravenwood Wednesday.

Division II-AA

Division II is not quite done with the regular season. Most teams have one or two more games yet this week.

Father Ryan is in third in the district, with a 9-1 record. They beat Lipscomb 3-1 and Ensworth 3-2 in the last week. The Fighting Irish play versus Girls Prep on Thursday night.

Brentwood Academy is  ninth place at 3-7. The Eagles lost to Pope John Paull II 3-1 and to Harpeth Hall 3-0 in the last week. They play Ensworth on Tuesday.

Division II-A

Battle Ground Academy lost to page last week, and is awaiting the postseason.

Franklin Road Academy swept Davidson 3-0 to win its last game of the regular season.

Class A District 11

Grace Christian is 1-7, and plays Berean Christian on Monday.

Class AA District 12

Page is in first place with a 6-0 record. The Patriots beat Giles County and Hume-Fogg last week, and lost in a non-district game to North Cobb.  They play at Brentwood on Monday to end the regular season.

CPA is in second place in the district at 3-2. The Lions tied Columbia Central on Friday in a non-district game.

Spring Hill lost to Summertown last week, and at 1-3 is in the bottom half of the district.

Class AA District 11

Fairview is 2-12 in its district. The Yellowjackets lost 3-0 to Camden Central on Thursday and are getting ready for the district tournament.
