Just in time for the new school year, the GFWC Spring Station Woman’s Club is initiating multiple collection drives to help those in need!

SCHOOL SUPPLIES—As you’re buying school supplies for your own children, why not pick up a few extra to share with children in our local schools who are in need and can’t afford to buy their supplies? Help GFWC Fill the Van at Bostelman Automotive, located at 3020 Belshire Village Drive, from July 15-August 5. Paper, pencils, crayons, notebooks, folders, glue sticks, markers, composition books, and more are needed!

FOOD — The Well is a community organization for which GFWC is collecting food and other items for local families. While stocking up on breakfast and lunch items for the new school year, pick up requested items and bring to Re/Max Fine Homes, located at 4816 Main Street, Suite H, between the dates of July 15—29. Items requested include grits, instant potatoes, mac and cheese, canned pasta/chili/stew, spaghetti sauce/pasta, bagged beans, mustard, ketchup, single roll paper towels, 4 pk. toilet paper, and powdered laundry detergent.

SHOES—And as you’re cleaning out your closets and shopping for new shoes, you may bring new and gently used shoes to Re/Max Fine Homes and the club will be delivering them to Soles for Souls for distribution.

The GFWC is an international women’s organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. Membership is open to those who seek friendship, fun, and fulfillment through community involvement. Meetings for the local club take place on the first Monday of each month (except for Labor Day) at 6:30 p.m. in the lower level of the Winchester Community Building on Maury Hill Street in Spring Hill.
