GFWC Spring Station Woman’s Club Honors Youth Writing Contest Winners

The GFWC Spring Station Woman’s Club was recently notified that they had winning entries at both the GFWC Music City District level as well as the GFWC of Tennessee state level for a Youth Poetry and Short Story Contest the local club had sponsored and coordinated. Four young ladies attended recent club meetings and were presented with certificates as well as monetary rewards for their writing creativity.

This contest was part of a larger initiative implemented through the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC). The GFWC is an international women’s organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. The local club, GFWC Spring Station Woman’s Club, meets on the first Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the lower level of the Winchester Community Building on Maury Hill Street in Spring Hill. Membership is open to those who seek friendship, fun, and fulfillment through community involvement.
