Jeff Garner is owner of eco-ware label Prophetik and is originally from here, even though his name is better known in Paris, London or Vancouver. He is showcasing a collection that marks the 30th anniversary of Princess Grace’s death. The collection is a tribute to Grace Kelly as a style icon, and the 24-dress ensemble is a tribute to the Royal Family.
The history Channel was in downtown Franklin early last month shooting Garner as part of the “40 Great American Artists Under 40” exhibit currently underway at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. His work was selected from among 2,500 artists around the nation, and will be featured on a television special in early 2013.
His new special collection will unveil in Monaco and will tour at the Smithsonian on September 22nd. Jennifer Parker is chair of the 39th Annual Heritage Ball with her husband Jamey and she will be wearing a Prophetik gown for the ball. Her fitting was filmed as part of the show. “This dress was made for the catwalk at London Fashion Week this year, but we’ve changed it a bit to make it special for her and for the Ball,” Garner said. “It’s a fine hemp and raw silk gown, dyed with Japenese indigo, and we’ve added some vintage lace and a French bustle in the back, along with the exposed zipper.”
Visit us later this month for more about this dress and the Heritage Ball.
