Getting Around Town Williamson – The Main Street Festival

Don’t forget that the downtown streets will be blocked on Saturday and Sunday to make room for the Main Street Festival. The closest you can get to Main will be the parking garages on 2nd and 4th so plan accordingly. More than 130,000 visitors are expected so wear your walking shoes.

Free parking is also available at Harlinsdale Park on Franklin Road and at The People’s Church on Murfreesboro Road. Shuttle rides to the event are provided by the Franklin Transit Authority for $1 per adult and 50 cents for children and seniors. Both sites will operate on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.; only the Harlinsdale site will operate on Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.

Ignore the call for rain and brave the day to benefit the Heritage Foundation and all those vendors waiting to show you their wares. If Silhouettes from Erie, PA, and Laviere Boutique Skincare from Gaithersburg, MD can make it to our street festival, You Can Too! This is not the year to miss.

Two stages of entertainment are available this year. On the City Hall Stage the event begins with music and a ribbon cutting then Ann Carroll School of Dance will perform at 10 a.m. and the Scott Ellis School of Dance hits the stage at 12:30 p.m. The Fourth Avenue Stage hosts the O’Brien School of Irish Dance at 10 a.m. as well. Throughout the day more performers will take the stage leading up to the street dance Saturday night. The list of talent is long and continues on Sunday so look here to find out your must see attractions and show times.

Also on 4th Avenue is the Beer Tent Stage and it will spin with the help of a DJ from Noon until 10 p.m. on Saturday and Noon until 6 p.m. on Sunday. Drop by to find out what local drafts might be pouring and take a rest under the large pavilion to get away from the sun or rain as needed.

The Williamson Source will be on site taking photos for Instagram and videos for our website both days! Find us and get yourself on camera so you can brag to all of your friends. Our booth is located near JJ’s Wine Bar.
