Grace Christan Academy Tops Richland, Readies For Regionals

In their first season in TSSAA basketball, Grace Christian Academy has advanced to the regional tournament after a third place in the District 11-A tournament.

In their contest against Richland, the Lions were led by Demontay Dixon’s 13 points, 12 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 blocks. Dylan Woods added 11 points and Jake Johnson finished with 10 points. The win moved Grace Christian to 15-13 on the season, having won 7 of their last 8. Johnson and Dixon were both named to the All-District regular season team and Dixon was named to the All-Tournament team.

The Lions will travel to Wayne County in the first round of the regional tournament on Saturday. The Wildcats finished 2nd in District 12-A after losing the district championship to Loretto. Wayne County currently sits at 19-8. The teams have similar records and results against common opponents on the year.
