This week, Grace Christian Academy junior forward Michael Jones was named Tennessee State Player of the Week by MaxPreps and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for the week of March 28-April 3.

Jones has led the Lions to a 6-1 start and is scoring in bunches this season. So far, the Lions have outscored opponents 45-7 so far this season. The junior has put up prodigious numbers, even by the Lions’ standards. Jones has tallied 19 of GCA’s 45 goals. Beyond scoring 19 goals, Jones has set up his teammates with 12 assists this year.

This was the first MaxPreps honor for Grace Christian Academy in their time in the TSSAA.

The NSCAA uses results and statistics provided by MaxPreps.com to select one boy and one girl honoree competing during the spring high school season (February-June). The MaxPreps/NSCAA High School Player of the Week Program is a partnership between the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and CBS MaxPreps, Inc. Each week MaxPreps and the NSCAA recognize deserving student-athletes at the high school level who have demonstrated outstanding play on the field throughout the week of competition. Coaches must submit statistics to MaxPreps.com in order for their athletes to be considered for the program.[scroller style=”sc1″ title_size=”17″ display=”cats” cats=”45″ number_of_posts=”12″ auto_play=”5000″ speed=”300″]
