Amor Gives GCA Spark on Offense and Special Teams

In their first season of TSSAA play, Grace Christian quarterback Austin Amor has triggered a Lions offense that has used a balanced spread attack through their first 4 games and this week was no exception. Through the air, Amor completed 15 of 20 passes for 188 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. James Bright would catch 3 passes for 68 yards and a touchdown, while Nick Whitson added 5 receptions for 59 yards.
On the ground, both Amor and running back Dylan Woods went over 100 yards for the game. On 16 rushes, Amor would run for 146 yards and 3 touchdowns. Woods ran the ball 17 times for 108 yards. Running back Jordan Whitson would run the ball 5 times for 29 yards and a touchdown.
On the opening kick of the 2nd half, Austin Amor fielded the kick, he then lateraled  the ball to Calvin Berger, who would take the ball 81 yards for a touchdown. Also on special teams, Dylan Woods would go 6 for 6, which provided the final score differential.
Defensively, Wood led tacklers for Grace Christian yet again with 7.5 tackles. Nick Whitson and Kolby Alonzo would each have 6.5 tackles for the Lions, with Alonzo recovering a Richland fumble and returning it 48 yards.

“It was an absolute and complete team win. We learned how to fight through adversity and not buckle under pressure.”-GCA Coach Rusty Smith.

The win would move the Lions back to .500 in regional play. Next week, GCA travels down Carters Creek Pike to face another regional opponent, Columbia Academy.
