Garth Brooks Performs First Concert at Ryman Auditorium
SiriusXM just announced the launch of The Garth Channel on SiriusXM. Garth will perform a special invitation-only concert for SiriusXM listeners at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. It will be the first time in Garth’s career that he has put on a full concert at the Ryman Auditorium.
“Just the thought of playing the Ryman is crazy. The fact that SiriusXM is going to capture the evening makes it even a bigger event for me,” said Garth Brooks.
“It will be a special moment for Garth at the Ryman, and we are excited to present this one-of-a-kind performance to our national listening audience. As Garth is showing on his current tour, he holds nothing back, and for him to play the Mother Church of Country Music will be a treasured moment for his many fans,” said Scott Greenstein, President and Chief Content Officer, SiriusXM.
The private concert at the Ryman Auditorium for SiriusXM will air live on Thursday, September 8 on SiriusXM’s The Garth Channel, channel 55, and through the SiriusXM app on smartphones and other connected devices, as well as online at siriusxm.com.
SiriusXM subscribers who have had an account since July 11 will have the opportunity to enter to win tickets to Garth Brooks’ private September 8 SiriusXM concert beginning July 27, by a radio call-in opportunity. Visit the Sirius XM website for more details.
Charlie Daniels will be featured at the Country Music Hall of Fame
The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum will examine the life and career of 2016 Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Charlie Daniels in the exhibition Charlie Daniels: Million Mile Reflections, opening Sept. 23, 2016, and running through March 2017. Featuring musical instruments, stage wear, manuscripts, awards, childhood mementos and previously unpublished photographs from Daniels’ personal collection, the exhibit will describe his significant impact on American entertainment and explore the new musical style and image he brought to country music.
“I can’t even articulate how honored I am by this exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. I couldn’t think of a better name myself unless it would be Five Million Mile Reflections,” said Daniels.
“Charlie Daniels forged a bracing new musical style out of bluegrass, blues, country, jazz and rock & roll. His sound quickly became popular on country, pop and rock radio stations,” said museum CEO Kyle Young. “His musical journey has led him to the Country Music Hall of Fame, where he will be inducted in October. It is only appropriate that we celebrate his remarkable career with our latest exhibition.”
