How to Watch 5th Season of ‘Game of Thrones’

Disclaimer: This article is spoiler free! So for those of you who prefer to wait until a season is over and binge watch, don’t worry, there will be no mention of what has happened or what is projected to happen on the 5th season of Game of Thrones.

If you really want a recap of everything that’s happened on Game of Thrones in the last 4 seasons, read this helpful article from Rolling Stone.

The biggest problem with Game of Thrones is that it is exclusively on HBO. And for that reason Game of Thrones has been illegally downloaded more times than any other show. Game of Thrones has held this title for three consecutive years with more than 8 million downloads, reports TorrentFreak.

So how are you going to watch? If you don’t have HBO, you may think you’re out of luck. Apple, of course, has come up with a solution: HBO Now.

HBO Now, a subscription based plan like Hulu and Netflix, launched a few weeks ago. Subscriptions can be purchased directly through iTunes. You have to sign up through Apple TV or iOS gadgets and you can stream the show through the HBO Now app on Apple TVs, iOS devices and desktop Web browsers. The first month is free. Monthly subscription costs $14.99.

HBO Now is a great option for those who don’t have cable subscriptions. If you do have cable, there’s some good news. HBO is free the weekend of April 10th through 12th (very convenient of them to do this during the premiere of one of the most successful television shows). And to top it off, they are showing a marathon of season 4 on Sunday before the big season 5 premiere, so set your DVR!
