Fall is in the air and it’s a great time to take the family out for some great adventures close to home and a few free adventures we found in Nashville for your fall break.

Franklin Farmers Market

Franklin Farmers Market Invasion of the Scarecrows- Invasion of the Scarecrows sponsored by Ford Lincoln of Franklin takes place on Saturday October 17. Scarecrows as far as the eye can see will invade the Franklin Farmers Market.  The farmers, vendors, and food artisans will magically transform into live, walking, talking scarecrows at the farmers market. These scarecrows will be accompanied by some mighty festive fall decorations and plenty of fresh food for you to enjoy or take home for fall meals. You can also enjoy the  annual FFM Pumpkin Patch provided by King Farm and Wilson Farm, Molly’s fall-themed face painting, kids’ games, Guess the Weight of our Big Giant Pumpkin, and photo opportunities at the White Rabbit costume tent and with the one-of-a-kind Market Scarecrow.

Country Music Hall of Fame Event-If you haven’t had a chance to visit the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, here is your chance to take your kids for FREE. From October 3-19th,students receive  free admission with school ID or when wearing school apparel; $10 off adult museum general admission per chaperone (up to two per student). Offer available  for students from Cheatham, Davidson, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson, and Wilson counties. Current exhibits to enjoy at CMHoF include Trisha Yearwood, Eric Church, Luke Bryan, and The Cosmic Genius of Sam Phillips.

Casper Napping Tour in Nashville-Online mattress company wants to give you the chance to catch some zzz’s while test driving their new mattress in their napping pods coming to Nashville this weekend. The truck will be in the 12th South area of Nashville all weekend.  Sign up to nap in one of their pods for free. 

Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame-After you visit the Country Music Hall of Fame, walk right down the street to the Music City Center to enjoy the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame for free. Inside the Music City you will find displays of songwriting memorabilia, the gallery features interactive touch screens that allow visitors to access audio, video and other digital information about the history of Nashville songwriting and members of the Hall of Fame. Outside at the corner of Fifth Ave. and Demonbreun St., classic song titles and legendary names surround the landmark Songwriters Square (directly across from Bridgestone Arena and the Country Music Hall of Fame) that strikingly illustrates Nashville’s reputation as a songwriter’s town.

Goo Goo Cluster- Nashville’s first candy bar which is now over 100 years old, has its own store complete with history of the bar and how it is made.  As you visit the store located at 116 3rd Avenue in Nashville, you can also sample the current selections. With an open kitchen concept, you can also watch Nashville’s famous candy being made right in front of you. A great family outing.
