Free Cooking Classes for Tweens at Spring Hill Library

Chef Cyndi Shalhoub is a Franklin area Farm to Fork celebrity chef who has a new focus to her work. She has become passionate about teaching tweens how to cook. She’s coming to the Spring Hill Library once a month for three months and offering hands on cooking classes for ages 8-14 at the Library’s invitation.

Patterned after the successful cooking classes she presented last fall at the Savory Spice Shop in Franklin, each session will use spices from a special region of the world. The Spring Hill Library is excited to have her back and to target the next generation of home, or even possibly, professional chefs.

Chef Cyndi has cooked for a number of area entertainment and sports professionals and she has been a featured instructional chef at the Franklin Farmers Market, Whole Foods and area libraries.

The classes are limited to 12 participants (ages 8-14) so sign up is necessary by calling or coming into the Spring Hill Library. Each class will have one dish prepared with a tasting to follow. Chef Cyndi will lead three similar cooking classes at the Spring Hill Library over three months: on Feb 12, March 12, and on April 9, always at 4:00-5:30 p.m.

The Library asks that participants sign up for only one session to allow for as many young chefs to learn from Chef Cyndi as possible. As with everything at the Spring Hill Library, the classes are free.

Spring Hill Library is located at 144 Kedron Parkway, Spring Hill, TN 37174.
