The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a recent scam involving individuals posing as Xfinity representatives.
According to reports, the scammers appear to know victims’ monthly bill amounts and offer to cut the bill in half for the next three years—if the total is prepaid using gift cards. Authorities emphasize this is **not** a legitimate offer.
Xfinity will never request payment through gift cards.
Residents are urged to warn friends, family, and especially those who may be more vulnerable to scams. Anyone who receives such a call should hang up immediately and report the incident to law enforcement.
