The city has purchased three flood damage homes and is making plans for demolition. More homes may follow this path in the near future. The Franklin Special School District is feeling a budget crunch as the 2012-2013 proposed budget is short approximately $380,000. State funding is not sufficient to cover recent health cost increases and teachers raises. The estimated tax revenue is falling short on covering needed expenses.
