Franklin HS is on a roll. Going 3-0 and one of the two undefeated teams in District 11, the Rebels will take on Shelbyville Friday at home.

Franklin was at home for the first time last Friday against McGavock. The District 12 team fell to the Rebels 7-28.

Shelbyville hails from District 8 with an overall 2-1 record. The Golden Eagles had a bye-week last Friday, after losing their first game to Tullahoma two weeks ago. They finished out their season with an overall 4-6 record last year.

The Rebels have really started off the season strong in 2013. In 2012, Franklin was 1-2 within the first three games of the season.

Quarterback Joe Critchlow has been a key part in Franklin’s success this year. Only a junior, he had three touchdowns in last week’s game.

Senior Austin Winstead dominated the defense last Friday and held McGavock with 12 tackles for the night. He will be an essential part to the Rebels line-up on Friday night, as well.

Franklin’s second home game of the year will also host its Homecoming.

A grand fall tradition, the festivities will ignite the spirit for the September night. The Rebels will be celebrating throughout the week with Camo Day, Throwback Thursday, and, of course, Maroon Out Day.

Already 1-0 in District 11, thanks to their week 3  win against Dickson Co. Those maroon jerseys will not see another district meet until Brentwood (1-3) in week 7.

The Rebels will kick-off against Shelbyville on Friday at 7 p.m.
