Franklin High School is one of the four Williamson County teams to go undefeated so far this year. 4-0 and defeating Shelbyville last week, the Rebels are on a roll.

This week Franklin will travel over to Lincoln County (3-2) to take on the Falcons on their home turf. Last week, Lincoln County took a win over district rival Columbia (30-13). The Falcons hail from Class AAA, District 8 and are currently 2-0.

District 8 houses schools such as Tullahoma, Shelbyville Central, and Franklin County. Last season, the Falcons finished off 3-7.

This season, the Rebels have improved with a vast amount of consistency out on the field. They finished off 2012 with only four wins and have already accumulated that many wins within the first four games of the season.

Head coach Donnie Webb was a very proud coach last Friday, and despite the rain, the Rebel spirit was not washed out.

Webb said he was very excited last Friday about the Rebels Homecoming win over Shelbyville. “It was the first game that we put together some stuff offensively.”

Franklin managed to not turn the ball over the entire game. Joe Critchlow had three touchdowns for the night, and Zack Orange added five tackles in for the victory.

In order to prosper and remain undefeated, making plays on the field is certainly a goal that the maroon and white will have to accomplish this Friday night.

Garrison Matthews and Colton Black were certainly some influential players when it came to getting numbers up on the board. Black gained 135 yards and made it into the end zone twice for the Rebels. After connecting with Critchlow many times to rush in for a pair of TDs, Matthews landed and rose up holding his collar bone area.

The Rebels will travel over to Fayetteville, TN to take on the Falcons at 7 p.m.

The Williamson Source will keep you up-to-date on Matthews injury and Franklin High School throughout the rest of the 2013 season.
