Behind the legs and arm of Carter Hendry, Franklin ended its season with a 31-0 shellacking of Dickson County on Friday evening.

Hendry, the Franklin quarterback, completed 7-of-9 passes for 77 yards and two touchdowns, and ran six times for 59 yards and two more scores. Running back Matt Gaca (21 carries, 127 yards) also starred on offense for the Rebels.

Franklin’s defense forced two turnovers—one of those, a Jett Wilson interception—and gave up just 120 yards.

The Rebels (3-7, 1-4) picked up their first win in the region, and their second-straight victory.

Hendry got Franklin on the board with 1:55 left in the first quarter on an 8-yard scoring run, with Christopher Miller-Hill’s point-after making the lead seven.

Hendry hit Chancellor Bright (16 yards) and Gentry Neese (three) with first-half scoring tosses, as the lead was 21 at half.

A 32-yard Miller-Hill field goal and point-after, and a 46-yard Henry run, accounted for the remaining points. All came in the third quarter.

The season is over for both teams, as neither will qualify for the playoffs.
