school headerFranklin lost the last time it played, to Region 3-6A rival Ravenwood.

But since then the Rebels have had a week off to regroup. This Friday they have a shot to get back to .500 on the season, and to get a district win in the process.

They travel to Antioch, who is still looking for win No. 1 of the year.

Rebels Recipe For Success

Here is what Franklin coach Donnie Webb said about the game at Antioch:

Antioch is very athletic and full of good skill position players.  We have to be able to tackle in space and make Antioch drive the length of the field.  Offensively, we must learn to finish blocks and plays.  We must hold on to the football and work to be more consistent.  We must do a good job in the kicking game and once again be able to tackle in space.  If we do these three things we will be successful.

Franklin (2-3, 0-2) is still looking for its first district win of the year. The Rebels have been having trouble scoring, averaging just over 16 points per game. Their defense has been ok, holding oppoenents to less than 24 points per game.

Antioch, however, has been much worse. They score only 7 points per game on average, while giving up 29. If ever  a team needed a confidence-boost, Antioch this year might be the team to get it against. Franklin has an opportunity to get a solid win and to work out the kinks that have developed so far in this up-and-down season.

Kyle Evans is leading the Rebels in passing, with nearly 300 yards total, 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. But the Rebels have been more of a running team this year, as it is. Lannom Craddock, with nearly 400 yards rushing, leads Franklin on the ground.
