“This is a great honor for the City to win this award from 3CMA,” said Communications Manager Milissa Reierson.  “It was great working with Water Management Director Mark Hilty, the consultants and the guys at Think Squared Media.  Someone once told me that government was meant to be boring, I’m glad I didn’t believe them. I think this video shows that a complex topic, like the Integrated Water Plan, is something every resident should know about and understand.” The video has more than 600 views on YouTube, so check it out!

A video created for Franklin Mayor Moore’s State of the City presentation has been chosen for the final three out of 115 entries for a possible award. The video which explains the city’s integrated water resource plan and future plans spanning the next 30 years was written and produced by Communications Manager Milissa Reierson.

“This will be the first Communications-Marketing Award the City has ever received,” said City Administrator Eric Stuckey. “This proves having a talented, media savvy Communications team is an asset to our ever-growing community. Videos like this one help explain complicated, bureaucratic policies to everyday citizens in a way they can appreciate.”

You can watch the award nominated video here.

Keep your fingers crossed for Milissa and the city as they await the final decision. The announcement if they won the Savvy, Silver Circle or an Award of Excellence will be made at the City-County Communications and Marketing Association (3CMA) annual conference in Portland, Oregon this September.
