At 11:30pm Friday night, officers responded to a stabbing at the apartment complex located at 1000 Midwood Street. Officers found a resident of the complex laying on the ground in front of the 3000 building. He had been stabbed numerous times. The man who stabbed the victim called 911 to request medical assistance immediately after the incident, and stood by for help to arrive. The victim and suspect in this case are acquaintances.

Investigators are looking into the possibility that this could be a case of self-defense. The victim is in stable condition at an area hospital, and no charges have been filed.
