Franklin Police Department Relaunches Chaplain Program

The Franklin Police Department is relaunching its Chaplain Program and is inviting compassionate, faith-driven individuals to serve in this meaningful role. Volunteer chaplains will provide spiritual support, guidance, and comfort to officers, staff, and members of the Franklin community during times of need.

“Our chaplains will once again be a trusted presence during some of life’s most difficult and most joyous moments,” said Franklin Police Chief Deb Faulkner. “Their service is an important part of supporting the well-being of our officers, their families, and our community.”

Chaplain Duties

  • Offer emotional and spiritual support
  • Assist during critical incidents and community crises
  • Provide guidance and encouragement during times of grief, trauma, and celebration

Requirements

Applicants must be ordained or licensed clergy in good standing. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, a willingness to serve on-call, attend training sessions, and a commitment to confidentiality and professionalism are essential. Applicants are not required to live or work in Franklin.
