Franklin Police Officer Jesus Coreno has been named Officer of the Month for his work that led to the March 9 arrest of three suspects of an in-progress auto burglary. Officer Coreno spotted the suspects running from the scene when he arrived, and quickly coordinated with other responding officers. Two suspects were quickly contained, and the third was arrested a short time later. These arrests were particularly impactful for residents in the Fieldstone Farms neighborhood, who were being plagued by auto burglaries.

“Officer Coreno was instrumental in stopping these individuals involved in criminal activity in our neighborhoods,” said Chief Deborah Faulkner. “He used his training and experience in a way that benefited our community, and I commend him on a job well done.”

Toyota – Cool Springs, and Franklin Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram are proud sponsors of the Department’s Officer of the Month Program. Each month they honor a Franklin Police Officer’s accomplishment with a commemorative plaque, and a $150 check for the officer to donate to the charity of their choice. Officer Coreno is donating the money to his favorite charity: the St. Philip Catholic Church Christmas Basket Program. The charity provides gifts to community children to make their Christmas a little brighter.

Officer Coreno has served on the Franklin Police Department for 16 months. Prior to joining the FPD, Officer Coreno served the McAllen PD and Alamo PD, both in Texas. He has a total of 11 years in law enforcement.
