Franklin Light Opera to Present R+H Cinderella This Weekend

Franklin Light Opera will present Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella September 19–21 at the Williamson County Performing Arts Center. The Tony Award-winning musical, reimagined with a modern sensibility by Douglas Carter Beane, will feature a live chamber orchestra and a cast of local performers.

The story follows Ella as she seeks more than just dreams—she dares to create change with kindness, courage, and the help of her fairy godmother. Beloved songs such as “In My Own Little Corner,” “Impossible,” “Ten Minutes Ago,” and “A Lovely Night” will be performed, bringing humor, heart, and magic to the stage.

Lauren Lichac stars as Ella alongside Eli Ragland as Prince Topher. The cast also includes Karen Dumont, Shelley Schneider, Hallie Long, Jiana Kevilus, Vincent Davis, Josh Hunter, and Hazen Lawson, with a supporting ensemble of local talent.

The production is co-directed by Susan Weisbarth and John Schultz, with music direction by Scott Brons and choreography by Susan Guina.
