Starting off idle last week, Franklin will travel to Clarksville North East to kick off the 2013 season. Finishing off 2012 with 4-6 overall record last season, the Rebels are hopeful in new beginnings for 2013.

Head coach Donnie Webb says senior Colton Black, senior Josh Butler, and junior Joe Critchlow will all be key players during this season.
Running back Colton Black will be returning this season after an injury during his one and only game playing with the Rebels last year. Black was a 1,000-yard rusher his sophomore year.

Six-foot-seven and 260-pound, offensive tackle Josh Bulter will be another essential asset to the Rebels program this year. Also, class of 2015’s Joe Critchlow will be leading the team this year as quarterback. As a sophomore, Crtichlow took on the position.

9-4 last year, Clarksville North East fell to Beech in the Class 5-A Quarterfinals 43-44. Defeating Williamson County’s Centennial last week (48-31), Franklin may have a challenging season opener ahead. However, with seven returners on offense and five on defense, Franklin has a promising year to come.

The Rebels will kick off at Clarksville North East this Friday at 7:30 p.m.
