Franklin Fire Station No. 8 in Westhaven is scheduled for completion by this spring.
The new fire station, located at the corner of Front Street and Whitman Road, will shorten response times to the western areas of Franklin and it will also provide back-up to the downtown Station 1.
According to Deputy Fire Chief Todd Horton, the most recent update received by the Franklin Fire Department is an estimated completion date of Tuesday, Mar. 8.
This 12,812 square foot location will have three apparatus bays, living quarters for the on-duty firefighters, a gathering space, kitchen area and underground utilities.
