The City of Franklin has been named a recipient of the 2026 All-America City Award, a national honor recognizing communities that strengthen civic engagement, build trust and encourage public participation.
The National Civic League selected 10 communities across the country for this year’s award, which highlights efforts to improve civic health and strengthen the partnerships that help communities solve problems and make decisions.
Finalists gathered in Denver from June 26-28 to present their communities’ stories and initiatives to a panel of national civic leaders. Teams included residents, students, business leaders, elected officials, law enforcement officers and community organizations.
The National Civic League recognized Franklin for its efforts to maintain community involvement and civic participation as one of the nation’s fastest-growing cities.
According to the organization, Franklin faced challenges in 2023 when extremist groups attempted to influence local politics. In response, residents, businesses, civic organizations and local leaders increased community engagement and voter participation while publicly reaffirming the city’s values.
The award also highlighted programs such as Breakfast with the Mayors and FrankTalks, which give residents opportunities to discuss local issues and engage with community leaders.
Franklin was further recognized for expanding civic leadership opportunities and increasing youth involvement in local government through its partnership with Franklin Tomorrow and the Healthy Democracy Project.
