Franklin Christmas Tree Lighting

The city of Franklin is excited to light up the square Friday, November 30th, for the 2018 Christmas tree lighting.

What to expect:

  • Freedom Intermediate School Honors Choir and Centennial High School Choir will sing.
  • Special guest performances from Holly Williams and JT Hodges. Williams is an acclaimed singer/songwriter and owner of White’s Mercantile. She also happens to be daughter of Hank Williams Jr.
  • JT Hodges  is a songwriter and recording artist who starred in the 2013 Hallmark Channel Christmas Movie, “Finding Christmas” that debuted at the Franklin Theatre.
  • Mayor Ken Moore will lead the countdown to light the tree.
  • WKRN News Two morning host Neil Orne will emcee the event.
  • Free photos with Santa will be provided by Williamson Medical Center beginning at 6:00 p.m.
  • Mars Petcare is offering a pet friendly photo opportunity on the square
  • Spring Tree Media works with the City to create this magical performance with a fantastic stage and big screens so all who attend can see and hear this spectacular event.
  • Downtown retailers will stay open later so shoppers can get an early start on holiday shopping.
  • The Franklin Noon Rotary and the Downtown Franklin Rotary will hand out free refreshments.
  • The Pilgrimage Festival Folks are sponsoring free hot chocolate to the first 300 people at their booth.

Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation (MTEMC) is the presenting sponsor for the 2018 Franklin Tree Lighting Ceremony.

“We thank our partners who help us give this special gift to our community. It’s so nice to have families of Franklin join us to light our spectacular tree and help spread Christmas Cheer” said Mayor Ken Moore. “We invite everyone to come out beginning at 6 p.m. when the festivities begin. The performances will start at 7:00 p.m. We expect to light the tree at 7:30 p.m.”
