Franklin Christmas Parade Will Continue as Planned Despite Weather Forecast

The Kiwanis Club of Historic Downtown Franklin will be holding their annual Christmas parade on Saturday, December 1 at 2 p in downtown Franklin.

While impending storms has postponed the Franklin tree lighting (read more here), the Christmas parade will continue as planned on Saturday afternoon as there is no rain date, a Kiwanis representative said.

The organizers will be monitoring the weather closely and make a determination Saturday morning if the parade will be canceled or not. Follow Franklin Kiwanis Christmas Parade Facebook page for the latest updates.

Christian recording artist Bart Millard will be the Grand Marshal for the 2018 Franklin Kiwanis Christmas Parade. Best known as the leader of the band MercyMe, he has also released two solo albums, and is the subject of the box office hit, ‘I Can Only Imagine’. Residents of Franklin, TN, Millard, his wife Shannon and their five children will lead the parade.  Franklin Firefighters will collect toys for their annual toy drive along the parade route.
