Christmas Parade Franklin 2017

This was some weekend for getting into the holiday spirit in Franklin.

First, Friday night was the tree-lighting in the square. Then on Saturday afternoon some 90 floats marched in Franklin’s “Rockin’ Christmas” parade down Main Street, right around the tree, in the annual Kiwanis Christmas Parade.

The Grand Marshall was Joe Elmore, host of the WNPT TV show “Tennessee Crossroads.

There is nothing like it for good-old, small-town Christmas joy. Everyone, from Nashville Ballet ballerinas to the big-bellied bearded guy dressed in red and white, was on the march. It was tons of fun for kids ages nine to 92, as the crowd stood two or three people deep at least along most of the route. This was the 37th annual Kiwanis Parade, organized jointly by the city and Kiwanis Club of Franklin.
