Franklin Christian Academy Announces New Athletic Director

Wayne Smith Franklin Christian Academy Athletic DirectorAs Franklin Christian Academy enters its 15th school year this Fall they are happy to announce Wayne Smith as the new Athletic Director. Coach Smith has over 25 years of coaching, teaching and administrative experience within private and public schools.

A member of the Belmont University basketball team in 86 and 87 and a graduate of Tennessee State University, Coach Smith has a wealth of knowledge and experience with stops at Harding Academy, Grassland Middle School, Metro Schools, and most recently at Valor Collegiate Academy among others. Coach Smith has coached at the varsity and middle school basketball levels with both boys and girls teams. He has also run numerous camps, AAU travel teams, and most recently coaching with Upward Stars.

Coach Smith played for the legendary Belmont coach Rick Byrd early in his tenure at the university.

“I am extremely excited and blessed to be a part of the FCA family and humbly embrace my role as its athletic director. I hope to bring a strong competitive spirit into ALL SPORTS and the culture of FCA athletics while growing the program to compete at the highest levels,” said Smith.

FCA is a fully accredited (SACS/AdvancEd) college preparatory, private independent Christian school serving grades 5-12. Located at 818 Old Charlotte Pike East, Franklin, TN in its newly constructed campus with plans to grow for the future serving families in the Williamson County and surrounding area. The vision of Franklin Christian Academy is to provide challenging academics, life-giving community and transforming community.

Coach Smith resides in Franklin with his wife Lucretia and his 6 children.
