Franklin resident Judy Beaudin, owner of Scrumptious Catering and a competitive cook and baker, cooked and stirred her way to victory claiming the top prize in the Holiday Happy Hour category of the first World Food Championships Virtual Food Sport Competition.

Beaudin’s winning cocktail and appetizer pairing, Toasted Walnut Sweet Potato Biscuit Sliders with Nutcracker Ale Brown Sugar Glazed Ham & Spiced Beerberry Jam paired with The Naughty Nutcracker Cocktail, landed her in the top spot over 50+ competitors in her category. Three finalists were named in each of 10 categories via Facebook, with Final Round Facebook Live Zoom events for 5 of these airing on World Food Championships’ Facebook page. Beaudin cooked and presented live on November 10th along with the remaining two finalists and was named the winner that evening.

This is Beaudin’s third year as a World Food Championships competitor. She placed 4th in the 2018 World Dessert Championships and was Top 12 in the 2019 World Dessert Championship.

The World Food Championships (WFC) is the highest stakes food competition in the world. For the past nine years this multi-day, live-event culinary competition has showcased some of the world’s best cooking masters competing in ten categories to earn their way to a title, cash prize, and huge TV opportunity. One grand prize winner each year earns the title of World Food Champion and a $100,000 cash prize. In 2019, over 1,500 contestants on nearly 500 official teams from over 40 American states and 15 countries competed. More than 20 million people have attended WFC or have seen it on national TV over the past nine years.
