Franklin Awarded Excellence in Financial Reporting

Congratulations are in order for the City of Franklin as they were awarded by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for “Excellence in Financial Reporting.” The award is for the comprehensive annual financial report and this marks the 20th year the city has received this award.

“Achieving this award over the last 20 years is a substantial accomplishment for our Finance team,” said Assistant City Administrator for Finance and Administration, Russ Truell (pictured above). “I give credit to our Leadership team over all our departments in City government. This is an award that requires we all work together to successfully accomplish transparency and accuracy in our financial reporting.” Truell has been appointed as a new member-at-large of the executive board and will serve a three-year term.

Earlier this year the City of Franklin received the “Distinguished Budget Presentation” award for the fifth consecutive year.
