The Franklin Police Department can confirm that, last night, we worked with the FBI as they investigated Mohammod Youssuf Abdulazeez’s connection to our City. Because of the nature of the investigation, we were not able to confirm this for inquiring members of the media last night. Outside of his employment, as of now, there does not appear to be anything connecting Abdulazeez to Franklin, Tennessee.
“The Franklin Police Department is vigilant in protecting our residents from anything that threatens the security of our community,” said Chief Deborah Faulkner. “We will continue to partner with local, state, and federal law enforcement who join us in our commitment to safeguarding Franklin.”
The thoughts and prayers of the men and women of the FPD are with the Chattanooga Police Department, and everyone affected by this senseless act.
Franklin Police say anyone that may have had contact with Abdulazeez and think it may be important should contact the FBI.
