At approximately 4 p.m. on Sept. 18, the SHPD responded to a call of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision on Candlelight Drive. The complainant was walking with her 4-year-old child when the child suddenly started to cross the street and collided with a light silver Dodge Caliber that was occupied by a black male driver, possibly in his 20s. The child received minor injuries.
The complainant and the driver had a brief conversation and then the driver left the scene headed to Port Royal Road. Officers saturated the area but were unable to locate the vehicle. The vehicle has an out-of-state tag.
