Foster a Pet This Holiday Season

Due to community interest, the Williamson County Animal Control and Adoption Center is offering a holiday pet foster program.

“We have a number of senior pets that need a holiday break,” she said. “Unfortunately, many older dogs and cats are surrendered to us on a regular basis. They are particularly stressed by the shelter environment, and would especially benefit from being in a home setting,” said Laura Chavarria, director of WCACAC

Chavarria is looking for Williamson County families that will be staying home for the holidays. “We are seeking ten families that will commit to fostering from December 23 through 25.” Fosters must come to the shelter, fill out a foster application and meet with foster coordinators Amber or April. Approved foster families will be matched with a cat or dog. Foster pet pick-up will be Monday, December 23 and return will be Thursday, December 26 at 10:00 a.m.

The shelter will be closed for the holidays on Tuesday, December 24; Wednesday, December 25; and Wednesday, January 1.
