Former Franklin Fire Chief Named New Director of Emergency Management

Williamson County names retired Deputy Franklin Fire Chief Todd Horton the new Director of Williamson County Emergency Management.

Mayor Rogers Anderson officially appointed Horton during the County Commission Meeting on May 13th, 2019.

Horton recently retired from the City of Franklin Fire department. He has served the City of Franklin and Williamson County for over 29 years. In September of 2014, he was promoted to Deputy Chief of Administration and was the City’s designated Emergency Manager.

Horton is a lifelong resident of Williamson County who began his life of community service as a volunteer firefighter with the Williamson County Rescue Squad. He then moved on to become a firefighter for the City of Brentwood and dispatched not only for Williamson County but also the City of Franklin.

Public Safety Director Bill Jorgensen stated, “We have worked with Mr. Horton for years through our partnership with the City of Franklin. We are honored to now have him lead our Emergency Management team.”

Horton has an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science through Volunteer State Community College, numerous certifications and extensive training in related fields. He is also an active member of the Tennessee Fire Chiefs Association, International Association of Fire Chiefs, and the Emergency Management Association of Tennessee. Horton and his wife Pam live in Thompson’s Station. They have two daughters, a son-in-law, and a granddaughter.
