Rebels Run Away With The Game

The Rebels (4-3, 2-2) did little but run. But when you run for 419 yards and 5 touchdowns as a team you do not need to do much else.

Lannom Craddock took the claws out of the Wildcats, running for 245 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries.

The Rebel defense held Wilson to just 144 yards on 44 plays- less than 4 yards per play- and outright stopped their passing offense, holding the Wildcats to 3 for 11 passing for 20 yards and an interception.

Gentry Neese scored first for Franklin, on a 9-yard run. Shelbyville then scored its lone points of the night on a 32-yard field goal. Quarterback Kyle Evans, who went 0 for 3 passing, scored Franklin’s next touchdown on a 31-yard run. Evans ran for 86 yards on 9 carries.

At halftime, the Rebels were firmly in control, leading 21-3. Craddock scored his touchdown in the third quarter on a 15-yard run and in the fourth Matthew Burns scored his second touchdown of the night on a 20 yard run.

Next week Franklin plays another district opponent, hosting McGavock (4-3, 3-1).
