CPA Lions Chew Up Eagles in Homecoming

The Lions have feathers in their mouths.

Christ Presbyterian Academy (6-1, 3-0) notched off a Region 5-3A win on Friday night for homecoming against the East Nashville Magnet Eagles (1-7, 1-3).

The Lions are back to their winning ways, with the 35-6 victory their second straight after losing to Ensworth two weeks ago.

Lions Get it Done on The Ground

CPA scored 4 touchdowns on the ground, and intercepted the Eagles twice.

Chip Omer led the attack, with 95 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries.

But John Orr got there first. Orr, who had 5 carries for 23 yards and 2 touchdowns, started the ball rolling with a 10-yard touchdown in the first quarter to put CPA up first and for good.

Zack Weatherly, who threw 10 for 17 for 160 yards and a score, hit Joseph Richard for a 28-yard touchdown in the second quarter.  Richard finished with 3 catches for 42 yards.

Orr ran in his second touchdown, from 5 yards out, to put CPA up 22-6 at the half.

Omer, in the third quarter, made his biggest play of the game on a 40-yard touchdown run. Weatherly ran in a 4-yard touchdown in the fourth.

Price Perdue led the Lions in receiving, with 4 catches for 48 yards.

CPA had 325 yards total on offense, while East Nashville had 228.

CPA plays another district game at Greenbrier (3-4, 2-4) next week.
