Brentwood Academy, like what seems usual this year, had a big, 28-6 halftime lead against McCallie on Friday night.
But unlike usual for the Eagles, the Blue Tornadoes (5-4, 3-3) almost came back, scoring 20 points in the third quarter.
BA (9-1, 6-0) held off the late surge and, with star performances from quarterback Jeremiah Oatsvall and running back Prince Momodu, won its last game of the regular season 41-32.

Oatsvall threw for 175 yards and a touchdown, to Camron Johnson, and also ran for 150 yards and a score. Momodu ran for 157 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries. They scored all four of their combined touchdowns in the first half.
But in the third the Eagles offense slowed down, while McCallie, which gained more yards than BA on offense in the game, 542 to 484, scored three third quarter touchdowns.
Then in the fourth quarter, with BA still holding tight with a 38-26 lead McCallie scored again to pull within 6.
But the Eagles held on, with help from their special teams in the second half. If Oatsvall and Momodu in the first half gave BA the lead, then kicker Isaac Way, who nailed two field goals in the second half, and Camron Johnson, who returned a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter, gave BA the win.
The Eagles ran for 309 yards as a team, but allowed McCallie to run for 296- led by Maxim Yeow, who scored three touchdowns running.
With the win Brentwood Academy earns a No. 1 seed and a first round bye in the Division II-AA playoffs. The Eagles will play the winner of Friday’s St. Benedict-Briarcrest contest on Nov. 13.
