How the Flu is Affecting WCS

Dr. Looney, Williamson County Schools Superintendent sent a message to parents Monday that WCS school nurses are seeing cases of the flu, strep and the stomach bug and they are monitoring student and employee attendance to gauge the severity of sickness in our community.

Despite the severity of the flu this winter, WCS student attendance rate was 91.97% as of last Friday, meaning they served 35,698 of their 38,815 students. WCS daily student attendance rate typically runs between 94%-96%.

It’s not too late to get a flu shot. The Williamson County Health Department will be giving free flu shots at the Franklin and Fairview clinics. Simpy visit the health department clinic between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. You do not need an appointment.
