Floods To Cause Major Holiday Problems

If you haven’t gotten out yet, it’s time to leave.

That’s the message authorities tried to relay Thursday afternoon to residents of several Wichita Falls, Texas, neighborhoods. Mandatory evacuations were ordered ahead of expected low-level flooding, and the city’s Facebook page said officials were shutting down power in evacuated neighborhoods to prevent fires. Already, with more than 13.33 inches reported in the month of May, Wichita Falls is in the midst of its rainiest month on record. The Weather Channel

Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Kansas and the rest of Texas continue to brace for the worst this holiday weekend as record May rains totals are expected to increase across the areas by between 1″-5″. Add to that the chance of severe weather in many areas, and this is not where you want to spend your holidays.
