Fleet Feet asked you to nominate a mom who does is all to the max for Mother’s Day.
The first 25 moms nominated received a pair of Swfitwick Aspire running socks and the winner of the “Mom to the Max” contest received a prize package from Fleet Feet and Swiftwick, including a $100 Fleet Feet gift card, 3 pairs of socks, a Swiftwick shirt, hat, and a bracelet.
Fleet Feet announced the winner of their Mom to the Max contest. Out of the 65 nominees, there was one that stood out among the rest. Congratulations to Alice Miller! Â Read what Alice Miller had to say when she found out she was the winner. Â 
“What a wonderful surprise! I did not know my daughter had nominated me! Over the years we have exercised together (strength training and we loved step aerobics). My goal at 69 years old (almost 70 – in November) is to inspire and encourage other women my age to get out there and move. I moved to TN last year from FL (my husband of 30 plus years left me for a 38 yr old woman who had a criminal record – The two of them cleaned out all our savings and I lost everything – all I had was a few clothes) to live with my daughter.”
Miller goes on to say,”After my divorce, through a class reunion list, my 7th grade crush contacted me. We had dated a little in high school, but my dad was strict. We lost contact but always thought of each other. He lost his wife 4 yrs ago to cancer and was living in TX. He came up to see me in TN and we got married Feb 2016.”
Miller taught an exercise class at her church in Florida. Miller says the class was “made up of women 60 plus. I had several in their 80’s. They showed up all the time and were so amazed (and their family too) that they could now keep up walking at an amusement park with their families. It warms my heart. I substitute taught at the local gym Silver Sneakers and I loved that. I am not teaching here in Tennessee yet because so much has happened and I had (and still have) a mess to clear up. But that does not stop me from exercising a lot. It is a habit for me that I love.”
