Life Time, a total-package fitness mega-center, is coming to Cool Springs in the summer of 2017.

Glen Wilson, founder and CEO of real-estate developer SouthStar, announced the news during a panel discussion on Tuesday at the Williamson County Chamber of Commerce’s trends presentation.

The two-story, 120,000 square foot facility will sit on the northeast corner of Carothers Parkway and Liberty Pike, and will offer dance, art, music and tumbling studios, an indoor and outdoor pool, water slide, cafés, basketball courts and a full-service salon and spa.  It is part of the Carothers Crossing East, a 21.7-acre property being developed by SouthStar that sits just south of the mixed-use Ovation development.

“Bringing Life Time, which is a new-to-market, best in class and high-end destination to the Cool Springs area, is a unique opportunity that not many of us get the chance to do, so needless to say, we are very excited,” Wilson’s partner Glenn McGehee said press release. “The energy and excitement surrounding this flourishing development along the Carothers corridor continues to grow, and we’re confident Franklin residents will find Life Time to be a great addition to the community.”

Options of programs Life Time offers include: basketball, cycle, group fitness, kids, life clinic, life spa, pilates, racquetball, run, squash, swim, tennis, training, weight loss, yoga, life cafe, kids academy, athletic events and medi spa.

SouthStar’s plan for the property, approved by the Franklin Municipal Planning Commission in October, includes a second, 48,000 square-foot building for retail and office space. Construction starts in the next few weeks, and will proceed in two phases.

Life Time has 118 other locations around the country and Canada, most of which operate 24 hours a day.

“In the coming months we will be establishing an online wait list for those interested in being contacted about memberships,” Natalie Bushaw, director of PR for Life Style, said.  Stay tuned to the Source for updates on getting on the wait list.

Their website says they offer the best features of gyms, health clubs, family recreation centers, sports clubs and spa destinations.

“Our innovative programs, world-class training, nutrition and holistic approach to wellness will guide you toward a healthy way of life by engaging your areas of interest and helping you discover new ones.”
